Ruth Ben-Israel Biography:

1931 Born in Port Said, Egypt
Since 1935 lives in Tel Aviv, Israel
Graduated and received LL.B. (Cum Laude), LL.M. (Cum Laude) and Ph.D. degrees in Law. Specialized in Labor Law, Equal Opportunities, Social Security and Social and Economic Human Rights
2008-2011 served as Chair of the Israel Museums’ Council.

1988 – Bar-Niv Prize in Labour Law
2000 – Minkoff Prize for legal excellence
2001 - Israel Prize for legal Research
2001 – Israel Bar Association Prize for Women in Law
2005 – Women’s Lobby Award
2005 – Honorary Fellowship of the Open University
2008 – Woman of Tel Aviv Award
2008 – Namir Prize together with Gideon Ben Israel
2009 – Notable Person of Tel Aviv Award
